Community InvolvementConnie is a member of the Board of Directors of the Lakeshore Community Credit Union, located in Avon Lake, and is serving her sixth term as its Chairman. Connie also serves on the Board of Trustees of Fast Track Cycling, a Cleveland-based non-profit focused on establishing an indoor cycling facility in Northern Ohio. She also served on the Board of Directors of the Lorain Port Authority for seven years, including five years as an officer. Connie's involvement with the port authority allowed her to become actively involved with community events and public-private economic development, including a multi-million dollar riverfront development project.

Connie practices primarily in the areas of general corporate, securities, business sales and acquisitions, real estate and finance (both public and private). She has a broad range of transactions experience, including:

  • Representation in both business acquisition and sales transactions in US and Canada, with deal sizes ranging from less than $1,000,000 to over $20,000,000
  • Representation as underwriters’ counsel or co-bond counsel in public debt transactions ranging anywhere from $50,000,000 to over $145,000,000
  • Representation of both borrowers and lenders in negotiation of acquisition financing, debt refinancing and recapitalizations, both public and private – transactions averaging $1,000,000 to over $65,000,000
  • Representation of borrowers in real estate loans for apartment buildings, hotels and other commercial properties
  • Representation of developers/property owners in various commercial real estate transactions – including acquisition/sale of multi-family residential projects and commercial buildings, negotiation of leases and syndication of historic tax credits.
  • Public and private securities transactions, including preparation of 1934 Act filings for public companies
  • Preparation, negotiation and review of contractual agreements for businesses, including auto dealerships, IT and other technology-based companies, property developers and property management companies, manufacturers, service companies and retailers
  • Formation and restructuring of business entities, including preparation of operating agreements, shareholder agreements or other buy-sell arrangements
