Richman's Community Involvement Expands
Senior Counsel Stephen D. Richman was reappointed Volunteer Juvenile Magistrate for the Village of Moreland Hills. Mr. Richman is also serving his second elected term as Councilman for Moreland Hills, and previously served as Volunteer Juvenile Magistrate from 2000-2006. He was also appointed to the Cleveland Metro Bar Association’s “3 R’s Committee.” The 3R’s program is a collaboration between the Cleveland School District and the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association, involving more than 700 lawyer, judge and law student volunteers. 3R’s volunteers tutor tenth graders on the U.S. Constitution in preparation to take the Ohio Graduation Tests (OGT), and counsel the students on career and higher education alternatives available after High School.
Kohrman Receives Honorary Doctorate
In June 2008, Bar-Ilan University in Israel bestowed an Honorary Doctorate on Philosophy to founding Partner S. Lee Kohrman for his philanthropy work and social and communal projects in Israel and abroad.

Jackson Appointed to Baker-Nord Board

Jackson Inducted to CHUH Hall of Fame
Founding partner Robert H. Jackson will be inducted to the Cleveland Heights High School Hall of Fame on Thursday, May 8, 2008 at Landerhaven in Mayfield Heights, Ohio. There are only ten (10) Hall of Fame inductees selected by administrators and high school students each year.
Hyman Named in Business Insurance and Inside Counsel
KJK Associate, Jon Hyman, was again interviewed by Business Insurance Magazine on the decision by a 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals panel in Cincinnati in Charles D. Mickey vs. Zeidler Tool & Die Co. Details on the interview can be found in the article titled "Court Rules for Worker Fired After Bias Charge" of the Employer Suit Not Necessarily Retaliatory: Court."
Hyman was also featured in the article “Uncooperative Employee Sinks Her Own Harassment Claim” of Inside Counsel magazine. Hyman comments on the 8th Circuit court’s decision that affirmed summary judgment to Famous Dave’s.

KJK Associate, Jon Hyman, was recently interviewed by Business Insurance Magazine (a Crains publication) on the Greer-Burger vs. Temesi Ohio supreme court decision. Ehrman Quoted in Crain's
According to Partner Jim Ehrman, also a master commissioner for the federal courts, foreclosure sales will continue to increase for several reasons. He believes that the increase in sales is three-fold: (1) more out-of-state lenders realize that they have the federal option, (2) the convergence of adjustable rate mortgages adjusting up and (3) the general downward spiral of house values caused by houses for sale or in foreclosure.
